AGC English Language Club
The AGC English Language Club was formed on Wednesday, 6 November 2019 with a view to creating a platform for the students of Abudharr Ghifari College in order to prepare them for the professional world with necessary interactive and communicative skills. The inauguration ceremony was chaired by Shirin Akter Banu, Principal of the college. Members of the Governing body, secretary of the Teachers Council, respected teachers, students, student leaders, staff and all who are concerned with the college were present there.
The Principal and President of the club Ms. Shirin Akter Banu inaugurated the club. She unveiled the curtain of the Inauguration Ceremony banner with the clapping and cheers of the jubilant teachers and students. She in her inaugural speech gave emphasis on the importance of learning English. She appreciated the new venture and heartily thanked Ms. Shahnaj Begum, the Secretary General of the club for taking the initiative to establish such an important club for the college.
After that the Secretary General of the club, Ms. Shahnaj Begum, lecturer of department of English addressed the gathering. She congratulated the audience for being a part of the historical occasion of the college. She said that students must acquire the communicative skills along with their educational degrees. She also said that it is a golden opportunity for the students of Abudharr Ghifari College to improve their English speaking skills during their time at the campus and be worthy for the competitive corporate world. In her secretarial speech, she threw light on the importance of the club and expressed the mission and vision of the club.
At the end of the program a poem of William Wordsworth “ I Wondered Lonely as a Cloud” was played on the projector screen which had charmed the audience of the auditorium.
After that, the Secretary General of the club thanked everyone for being a part of the momentous event and making the program successful. The Inauguration Ceremony ended with the gleeful cheers and clapping of the teachers and students.
